Web design in Portsmouth: a site that names your district and answers the search

The visitor checking you from a phone on Albert Road wants three things in the time it takes to scroll: that you do this, that you do it here, and that people say you do it well. We build Portsmouth business sites around exactly that, with a page per service, the districts and towns you cover, your own photographs, and an enquiry path on every page. Live in about four weeks, from £599.

Painted houses along a street in Old Portsmouth

Built for how Portsmouth searches

Three things a Portsmouth site does that a template does not

It names the district

Southsea on the Southsea pages, Cosham on the Cosham ones, the island as a whole for a trade that travels. Titles, headings and photographs that place the business, because the map and the visitor both ask where.

It has a page per service

Boiler service, not "plumbing". Sunday roast, not "food". Rigging, not "marine services". Each one with what is involved, what moves the price, the questions people ask, and a photograph of the real thing.

It reaches your phone

The form lands in your inbox and on your phone, WhatsApp is a tap, the number is one tap on every page, and the sticky bar on a phone carries all three. Then we test the form every month, because a third of the Portsmouth sites we audit have one that goes nowhere.

How it is built

Fast, owned by you, ready for search on the day it goes live

Under two seconds on a phone
Timed on 4G on Clarence Parade before launch, with the number written in the handover. No page builder, no plugins, nothing that updates itself into a fault.
Search Console and Analytics
Both connected and verified on launch day, the profile link tagged, so the first report can separate what the map sends from what the pages send.
Structured data
Business, service, question and breadcrumb markup carrying the same name, address and hours as the profile, so the assistants read one story.
Consent done properly
Consent handled properly, and privacy and terms pages written for a business trading here rather than pasted from a template.
Nine layers of spam protection
Nine layers between the bots and your inbox, tested every month, so what arrives is a person with a job.
Hosting and care
A year included with the Business site and above; £159 a year on its own. You can leave with the site at any time.

After launch

Launch gets you found by name; the monthly work gets you found by trade

A new site gets your business found when someone searches your name and, with the profile matched, on the map in your district. “Plumber Portsmouth” or “restaurant Southsea” is held by businesses that have been adding pages, reviews and mentions for years. Catching them is the monthly work, from £399 a month, and the first month of it is free with every website package.

Questions Portsmouth businesses ask us

How much does a website cost in Portsmouth?

From £599 for a site with a page per service, your work or menu, about and a form; £1,200 for the full business site of fourteen to eighteen pages with hosting and a year of care; £1,600 with the full SEO package running from launch. The first month of SEO is free with every package.

Do I need a new website, or is the profile the problem?

Often the profile. If your site loads in under three seconds on a phone, has a page for each service and a form that works, we say so and fix the profile instead. A rebuild is the right call when the site is a page builder from years ago, has one page for everything, or cannot be edited without the agency that built it.

Who owns the site?

You do, all of it: the domain in your name, the code, the words and the photographs. It lives on our hosting because that is where it is fastest, and if you ever leave it goes with you as a working site, not an export.

How long does it take?

Four weeks is typical for Starter and Business, six for the growth package. The build itself is quicker than that; the calendar is set by your photographs and your read-through, and you watch it take shape on a private link from the first week.

What about photos?

The seafront, the shopfront, the boat, the van, the team, the plates: real photographs from your phone, resized and captioned by us. Stock photos are why most Portsmouth business sites look the same, and we do not use them where a real one exists.

Can the site take bookings or payments?

Yes, where it earns its keep: table bookings for a Southsea restaurant, a booking form for a charter, a quote form for a trade. We add what the business needs and nothing that slows the site down.

Find out whether you need a new site at all

Send us the one you have. If it can rank, we say so and fix the profile instead. If it cannot, you get the package that fits and a fixed price.
